Pension Credit - Don’t miss out on your entitlement - check your eligibility with one of our advisers

There are a number of myths surrounding the eligibility for pension credit and many people are not claiming because they have been told by friends or family that they won’t be eligible. Some of the most common assumptions are that you won’t qualify if you own your own home or have any savings.

Now that the winter fuel payment is linked to pension credit - there’s never been a better time to check your eligibility.

We were recently visited by Mr & Mrs Jones who have been worrying about winter fuel costs and had been discussing their concerns with friends who told them ‘they wouldn’t qualify’ for Pension Credit.

They have a combined pension income of around £300 and were worried their savings would disqualify them from making a claim. 

Thankfully they made an appointment with one of our advisers who checked their circumstances and helped them complete an application online. Their claim was successful and they will now receive the winter fuel payment. The extra funds provided them with peace of mind, knowing they could afford heating and other essential expenses.
